Crash sends 6 people to hospital in Dauphin County

Six people were taken to the hospital after a four-vehicle crash in Dauphin County on Friday evening. It happened around 5:17 p.m. along Route 322 in Reed Township.

A driver of a vehicle was making a left-hand turn from the exit of  Sheetz  into the eastbound lanes of Route 322 and was struck by a westbound vehicle, state police said.

After impact the first vehicle went into the eastbound lanes and was hit by a tractor-trailer, sending it careening into the westbound lanes where it hit a fourth vehicle.

One person was taken to Penn State Hershey Medical Center, and five others were taken to Harrisburg Hospital.

No word yet on the identities or conditions of the victims.
