All good things must come to an end. The 97th annual Pennsylvania Farm Show wrapped up this weekend, but left quite the mess behind. “It’s quite extensive beginning with the arenas. All of the halls are swept and cleaned. We clear the manure, and then we sweep the halls. Then we wash them with a fire hose and go through them again with our sweepers and the sanitizer. It’s an extensive process that seems to work pretty well,” says Patrick Kerwin, Executive Director of the PA Farm Show Complex and Expo Center. He also expects it to be a record-breaking year. “We kind of use the parking as a gauge as to how we did and based on the number that seemed to be in the building at various times we’re pretty sure that we broke an attendance record.”

Some of the food vendors agree. “The crowds were wonderful, we set a new record, we probably baked over 25,000 dozen or 300,000 donuts,” says Tom Lyon, Division Manager with the Pennsylvania Cooperative Potato Growers.
