Officials in Lancaster County unveiling  a new crime mapping tool which will allow everyone to see where crime is happening throughout the county.
Lancaster County Commissioners, along with the chiefs of police in Lancaster County, showing off the new service Wednesday, which lets people view reported and verified criminal activity, free of charge.
“It gives the public access to a map of blotter data which is where the incident occurred, the time the incident occurred. It doesn’t give the name. It will eventually provide the arrest but it doesn’t drill down to the specific block number”, describes Strasburg Borough Police Chief F. Steven Echternach.
The new tool essentially gives everyone the opportunity to know what’s going on in and around their neighborhood.
