Quick thinking by two North Middleton Police officers, Corporal’s Carver and Peterson, helped save a local woman’s life. The officers responded to the National Guard Fitness Center in Carlisle for a woman suffering from a seizure.
While en route, the woman went into cardiac arrest and stopped breathing. Her husband met the officers outside the building but had accidentally locked himself out. Officers had to break a glass window with their batons to gain entry into the building.
The officers used the defibrillator that each patrol unit is equipped with in order to respond to these situations.Corporal Carver performed CPR until EMS personnel arrived on scene and transported the woman to Carlisle Hospital. The officers’ quick action played a critical role in helping the victim and saving her life.
