Thousands of people are without power in Adams County after equipment malfunctioned at a Met-Ed supply station on Tuesday morning.
The supply station feeds two substations with Adams Electric Cooperative and also knocked out power to their customers around 5:45 a.m.
A total of 5,988 Met-Ed and Adams Electric customers were without power this morning.
Crews are working to fix the problem.
A majority of the outages are in the Fairfield, Carroll Valley and Orrtanna area.
