The Chambersburg Skydiving Center, Inc., settles a federal lawsuit.   The lawsuit filed by the Federal Aviation Administration in November 2012, claimed the Franklin County based company operated an aircraft in violation of FAA regulations.  Those violations  include failing to have the aircraft inspected, failing to have annual inspections and operating the aircraft when it was not in an airworthy condition.

Under terms of the settlement, Chambersburg Skydiving will pay a $10,000 fine.  In addition it will fully cooperate with the FAA for the purpose of conducting inspections and investigations concerning compliance with FAA regulations.  Prior to the lawsuit, Chambersburg Skydiving had no prior violations of FAA regulations and it acted quickly to ensure the air worthiness of the aircraft once it became aware of the violations.

The settlement agreement still must be approved by U.S. District Court Judge John E. Jones.
