Two off-duty police officers helped a Harrisburg woman during a robbery Wednesday evening at around 7:30 p.m. The officers were driving on the 400 block of Market Street when they observed the woman being dragged by a man.

They confronted the man, who tried to run off, but the officers were able to catch him within minutes. They called for back-up and on-duty officers arrived and arrested 49-year old James Mills of Harrisburg.

The woman told police she was walking to the train station when Mills came up behind her and ordered her to give him all her money. He shoved an object into her back, told her he had a gun and tried to force her to a nearby ATM.

The victim was not injured during the robbery and did not have anything stolen. Mills was searched and no gun was found in his possession, just a pair of pliers. He was arraigned and sent to the Dauphin County Prison in lieu of bail.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Lieutenant Robert Fegan at 717-255-3114.
