To help with that, Chef Donna demonstrated how to prepare a delicious hoagie spread that you can serve multiple ways, and she said it’s a true crowd-pleaser for your party.
Recipe: Hoagie Spread. It’s good! (and perfect for a Super Bowl party!!!)
Looking for that perfectly pleasing, totally man-food to serve up at your Super Bowl party? Look no more! This Hoagie Spread, though it may seem a little strange, it really super-delish and a real crowd pleaser. You can serve it on crackers, breads or any kind or even with some veggies. If you don’t have a food processor you can just chop everything up real fine and combine, but I rather like the creamy texture the food processor provides.
Makes about 4 cups
Ingredients
½ pound imported ham
¼ pound Genoa salami
¼ pound pepperoni
¼ pound Provolone cheese
¼ pound American cheese
½ head iceberg lettuce (I use half a bag of pre-shredded lettuce)
¼ cup chopped onion
4 cloves garlic (I use 4 or 6 cloves of roasted garlic from my grocer’s antipasti bar)
Hoagie seasoning, to taste
Up to ½ cup mayonnaise to moisten dip
Bread, crostini, crackers to serve
Optional: chopped tomatoes, onion, peppers, jalapeno for toppings
Preparation
Coarsely chop or tear all of the meats and cheeses and put in a food processor. Add in the lettuce, onion, garlic and about 1 tablespoon (or to taste) prepared hoagie seasoning. Pulse a few times to mix, then process until ingredients are thoroughly combined and still a bit coarse in texture.
Turn out into a bowl, mix in mayonnaise to moisten. Taste. Adjust flavor with additional hoagie seasoning. Serve with bread, crostini, crackers. Top with optional toppings if desired.
