Two women are facing charges after a police officer witnessed one of them shooting up in a parked car with two young children sleeping in the back seat. It happened around 7:30pm on January 26th in a parking lot in the 2000 block of Fruitville Pike. Madie Fritz, 25, of Washington Boro, is the woman the officer witnessed injecting herself. The mother of the children, both less than two years old, was inside a store and brought back to the vehicle. Her name is Beth Biagio, 24, of Lancaster.

Police found numerous items of drug paraphernalia, including needles and heroin packets in a diaper bag inside the car. Biagio was released pending a summons. She has since been charged with Endangering the Welfare of Children and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Fritz was turned over to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department on an outstanding bench warrant. She has been charged with two counts of Endangering the Welfare of Children and one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

The children were turned over to other family members.
