An early morning fire on Sunday forced two people from their home in Lancaster County. It happened around 12:19 a.m. along the first block of Pool Circle in Elizabeth Township. The residents were asleep when they woke to find smoke filling their home. They were able escape to safety.

Fire officials say it started in the ceiling above a wood stove and then quickly spread.

No one was hurt. Crews were able to get the fire under control within about 30 minutes.

Damages were estimated at $65,000.
