Skies are clear for now, but a brewing storm system in the South will begin to head north, increasing clouds during the overnight period.  Lows will be quick to drop during the evening before slowing down when the clouds move in.  Temperatures will bottom out in the upper 20s.

ANOTHER POSSIBLE STORM

Lots of uncertainty still lies on the track a storm system to the south will take Wednesday into Wednesday night.  Models are still split between a path close enough to bring us light accumulating snow overnight Wednesday, on the order of 1 to 3 inches, and a path that brings little, if any for most.  The highest totals will be along the state border.  Regardless, highs will be near 40 degrees Wednesday, with any late day showers being mainly rain.  Depending on the storm’s track as temperatures drop through the evening, we could see enough snow to reach the aforementioned accumulations.  We will of course bring updates as new model information comes in.  The storm will be out of here by Valentine’s Day, with mostly cloudy skies throughout the region and highs in the lower 40s.

MORE TROUBLE THIS WEEKEND?

Models seem to be temporarily backing off on the possibility of a coastal storm this weekend.  However, the set up that tends to give way to this type of storm will still be in place, so we are not 100% out of the woods yet.  For now, the weekend looks to be mainly dry, with cold air returning.  Skies will be mostly cloudy Friday with highs in the lower 40s.  Saturday, some flurries are possible, with highs back into the 30s.  The clouds still hang around Sunday, with highs in the upper 20s.

MILD WEATHER RETURNS

After the cold weekend, a mild pattern will return to the area.  Expect plenty of sunshine with highs in the middle to upper 30s Monday.  Tuesday will bring even milder temperatures, and even the chance for rain showers, with highs in the 40s.

Have a great night!
