Weather Futurecast Friday, February 22

The morning will remain dry and chilly for most, but a weakening storm system that brought copious amounts of snowfall to portions of the Central Plains and the Midwest is set to change all of that during the afternoon.  Since the storm is weakening, precipitation will be light and sparse across the area when it begins along western portions of the area early this afternoon.  Expect pockets of light snow and sleet, with very minimal, if any, in terms of accumulations with amounts under a half of an inch.  At the most, we’ll just be dealing with some slick spots at times during the afternoon, so be sure to take it easy on the roads.  Temperatures in the 20s during the morning are forecast to rise into the middle 30s this afternoon.
