State Police investigate fatal crash in Dauphin County

One person was killed in a single vehicle crash on Route 322 Wednesday afternoon. Just after 1:30 p.m., the driver lost control of the car while traveling eastbound on 322 near the Front Street Exit.

The vehicle struck the center median near the exit, passed over to the other side of the highway, went down an embankment, struck the sound wall and stopped between the wall and the guide rail.

The older car had automatic seat belts but the driver only used the shoulder belt, the lap belt was not secured. There were no passengers in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the cause of the crash. The name of the driver is not being released at this time, pending notification of the family.
