WEEKEND DIP:  As the upper level low pulls out to sea, the jet stream dips into the Northeast, bringing us colder air for the next few days.  The cool own continues today with mostly cloudy skies by afternoon and a northwesterly breeze at 10-20mph pulling in the chill.  Highs today will be in the low 40s.  Evening plans are chilly too with temps into the middle 30s.  Overnight, we hang onto the clouds and relax the breeze a bit with lows near 30°, seasonably mild for March.

Saturday, it looks like northwesterly flow will hold a mostly cloudy forecast.  Highs will only reach the upper 30s to near 40°.  The coldest day will be Sunday, despite some added sunshine; temps will only reach the middle and upper 30s.  We look dry this weekend.

EARLY WEEK:  We hold onto high pressure for Monday with more sunshine!  We should hit the upper 30s for highs.  Tuesday looks to start sunny and finish with some extra clouds.  Highs will be in the low 40s.

MID-WEEK QUESTIONS:  For now, the forecast looks rather tranquil for Wednesday through Friday.  We have temps holding steady in the low to middle 40s to close out the week.

However, there could be a wrench thrown in the mix.  Then models have trended southward with a storm system over the past few days.  Some models are now inching the system northward.  This could bring a slower moving, more potent system to the eastern seaboard, which could spell drastic forecast changes to include snow.  We know there are other outlets for weather information other than us, but we suggest you try not to buy into any specific forecasts for snow at this time.  Our models are superb, but pinpointing a major snow storm 5-7 days out with this much model flip-flop is not the most accurate or responsible thing to do right now.  We’ll let you know more as we know more.  Thanks for trusting in us!

EXPLAINER

Here’s a look at some March averages.  We’re on a warming trend on average, plus we gain about an 80 minutes of sunlight.
