In August of 2012, Carlisle Events announced the launch of a new non-automotive event, the Carlisle Sports and Outdoor Nationals.  Now, with more months having passed since the announcement and just a handful of months remaining until the event, Carlisle is excited to highlight many of the activities that will make the weekend unique and different to other events of its type in the region.  Best of all, many aspects of the event will be interactive, providing fun for enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds.

Gates open to patrons for the first time ever at noon on Friday, September 6.  Once they do, however, enthusiasts will have access to some of the most exciting sports and outdoor-themed entertainment and products around.  From championships to seminars, products to services and everywhere in between, this event will have it all.  The Carlisle Sports and Outdoor Nationals will host groups like the National Wild Turkey Federation, Pennsylvania Game Commission, representatives from the Boone & Crocket Club, the Verein Deutsch-Drahthaar Group of North America and many more.  These exhibitors and others like them will be hosting exhibitions and interactive competitions where enthusiasts of all skill sets can be involved.  In addition, seminars onsite will include a hunters safety course, fly casting demonstrations, wild game calling, archery hunting, deer processing, waterfowl hunting, first aid, overall techniques to better oneself in the outdoors and so much more.  Moreover, many vendors have declared Carlisle their new home for vending and/or competition championships following the cancellation of the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show.  Not only will familiar groups be onsite as vendors, but the “average Joe” will also be set up, making for even better person to person interaction and contact.  Not only will familiar companies and groups be onsite as vendors, but we’ll also have an area for the individual sports and outdoor enthusiast to set up, making for even better person-to-person interaction and contact.  This event will truly allow every enthusiast to put a face to the products that they use on a daily basis.

Along with seminars, demonstrations and interactive events, there will be a swap meet and corral for all to browse.  The swap meet allows for enthusiasts of all skill levels to browse products and either enhance, replace or replenish their stock. Whether they are looking to move a life vest, tree stand, knife sheath, fishing rod, tackle box, trolling motor for a boat or any other product that best fits the outdoor lifestyle, this portion of the weekend is ideal for just that.  Within the corral, boats, campers, RV’s, ATV’s, trucks, trailers, snowmobiles and more will be for sale.  That’s not all, however, as the corral will contain more than just the aforementioned machines.  Attendees will have a great time browsing the area which will be filled with new, used and vintage machines.  In addition, buyers and sellers can work together and with onsite financing, including notary service, the transaction is that much smoother.  There are also test drives of ATV’s and lawn mowers, monster truck rides, a gun show in partnership with Eagle Arms Productions and a wildlife show with Bwana Jim just to name a few.

Finally, there will be a gun show held in conjunction with the event.  Vendors selling guns will primarily be set up within the nearby Carlisle Expo Center.  All guns, legal in accordance with state and federal laws at the time of the event, will be permitted.  The selection will vary as part of this portion of the weekend, but will afford those who hunt yet another option to shop for the products they need.  Finally, along with the gun show, the Pennsylvania Game Commission will host a pair of Hunter-Trapper Education Courses.  Each course is limited to 60 participants with one taking place on Saturday and the other on Sunday.  Hours for the courses are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and registration for this and many other interactive activities is available online via www.CarlisleEvents.com.
