One killed in Perry County fatal crash

One man was killed in a two vehicle crash in Rye Township, Perry County around 3:30 p.m. Thursday. David Hammaker, 47 of Marysville, was driving eastbound on Valley Road when he crossed into the westbound lane and struck a pick-up truck head-on.

Hammaker was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, 27-year old Michael Sheaffer, suffered moderate injuries in the crash. There were also three passengers in the pick-up at the time of the crash.

Two of the passengers, 37-year old Jonathan Patterson and 36-year old Ryan Blasko, were not injured in the crash. The third passenger, 28-year old Ryan Bringhurst of Shermansdale, was severely injured and was flown to Hershey Medical Center.
