He’s only a freshman but already Trinity’s Brad Buchter can call himself a PIAA Champion.    Buchter is the clear winner in the “AA” Boys 1 Meter Diving Finals at Bucknell University in Lewisburg on Thursday.    He scores a PIAA record 533.05 points to destroy the previous mark of 496.45.   Buchter is the second gold medalist diver in the family.  His older sister Ashley won the PIAA titles in 2011 and 2012.

The following are the local medalists from Day 2 at the PIAA meet:

GOLD MEDALISTS

“AA” 1 Meter Diving – Brad Buchter  (Trinity freshman)     533.05 points

SILVER MEDALISTS

“AA” 100 Yard Breaststroke – Shane Hallett  (Boiling Springs senior)   58.64

“AA” 100 Yard Freestyle – Nathan Smith  (Susquehanna Township senior)   45.97

“AA” 100 Yard Freestyle – Victoria Griffin  (Delone Catholic senior)  50.17

“AA” 500 Yard Freestyle – Erin Merkle  (York Suburban senior)   4:57.88

“AA” 400 Yard Freestyle Relay – York Suburban

York Suburban’s girls finish 2nd in the overall standings.
