…The Winter Weather Advisory continues through 8AM today …

BELOW AVERAGE:  After a slushy, messy afternoon commute on Monday, the wintry precip is long gone for today, but the cold air is here to stay.  The jet stream is displaced to our south and a slow moving upper low will park itself over the Northeast.  This spells a period of generally cloudy and cooler weather for the region.

For today, any lingering morning rain/sleet will taper through the mid morning hours.  We’re going to warm through the morning, topping out in the upper 40s by early afternoon.  Then, a stiff westerly breeze kicks in, ushering the colder air that will stay with us through the end of the week.  Tonight, we’re dipping into the mid 20s.

WINDGUSTS

For the first day of spring on Wednesday, temps will barely move into the 40s.  We’re partly cloudy with a stray flurry or sprinkle not out of the question.  The coldest of the air settles in on Thursday.  Expect a breezy and downright cold day.  Mostly cloudy skies will prevail as temps only climb into the middle and upper 30s!  By Friday, we’re seeing a bit more sunshine and temps get back into the low 40s.

METEOGRAM

COOL WEEKEND:  The weekend looks like the best of our next seven, so that’s the good news.  Expect a generally sunny Saturday with clouds gradually filtering in on Sunday.  Highs Saturday will be in the mid 40s and Sunday will be in the upper 40s.  We look to stay dry.

NEXT UP:  The models are hinting at another mixed precip kind of day for Monday.  So, yep we’re below average into next week with the chance for some wintry weather in early spring yet again!  More details as we know them.

Here’s to a terrific Tuesday!
