Cumberland Valley’s girls are playing their best basketball at the perfect time.   After finishing fifth in the district tournament, CV continues an unlikely run through the PIAA field all the way to the “AAAA” championship game.   The Eagles make the long trip to Altoona and easily handle Chartiers Valley 54-39 in the semifinals.    They will face Spring-Ford in the championship Friday Night, 6pm at Giant Center in Hershey.

York Catholic continues to build on a dynasty that has taken them to the PIAA “AA” championship for a seventh time.  The Irish open up the game during the first few minutes of the third quarter in Reading to eliminate St. Basil Academy 45-28.    York Catholic lost in the title game last year.  They go for the gold Friday afternoon at Noon in Hershey against Bishop Canevin.

Donegal and Trinity’s boys both come up short in their bid for a berth in the PIAA finals.     Donegal goes down to the wire before falling to Imhotep Charter 56-54 in the “AAA” semifinals at Reading High School.    Trinity is ice cold from the field in their effort against Holy Cross at Martz Hall in Pottsville.  The Shamrocks end their season with a 53-39 loss.
