Having a child with a critical illness like cancer or a heart defect, can be extremely difficult for everyone involved, so Gail Naylor of York County is trying to do her part to help families in need. Naylor is holding a community fundraiser at the Scotts Building at the Emgisville Park, Friday and Saturday, to try to raise awareness about the “Children’s Roads to Recovery” foundation.
The foundation provides transportation, lodging and funding for related expenses for families.

The founder of the organization, Michael Polk, started it over 20 years ago after his young son Christopher was diagnosed with cancer.
Currently, the foundation is only in three states.. Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C. but Naylor is hoping to raise enough money to bring it here to the Keystone state.
The community fundraiser will be held from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Scotts Building in Emgisville on Saturday.
More information on the Children’s Roads to Recovery can be found here.
