A man accused of sexually assaulting an elderly woman at a Lancaster County nursing home waived his preliminary hearing Friday morning. The incident happened back in January at the Maple Farm Nursing Center in Ephrata.
Police say Glenn Hershey, 65, a registered sex offender, sexually assaulted the 86-year-old victim. The victim suffered from Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, according to court documents. Hershey was a patient at the nursing home.
He is charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault and sexual assault.
His formal arraignment is scheduled for April 24.
