CLEARING SKIES
Upper level low will finally lose its grip on us. High pressure builds in at the surface. This means, more sunshine, a bump in our temperatures and the winds won’t be as gusty but will still be slightly breezy.
Lows tonight will be cold in the mid to upper 20s. With a slight breeze, wind chills will run in the low 20s to upper teens.
WEEKEND LOOKING DRY
Get out and enjoy the outdoors. Plenty of sunshine for Saturday and for the start of Sunday before the clouds return. Highs will be in the upper 40s tomorrow, while they will be in the mid to upper 40s to end the weekend. Clouds may knock off a few degrees as they increase across the area. Right now it looks as if the next storm arrives late Sunday night. Most of the moisture will hold off until late evening and overnight. The later it is before the precipitation starts, the more likely it will start as all snow.
LAST WEEK OF MARCH REMAINS CHILLY AND BREEZY
Another trough digs in for the last week of March. Expect Tuesday and Wednesday to be breezy, with clouds and high temperatures only in the low 40s. While more sunshine and calmer conditions are expected for Thursday and Friday, temps still look to remain below 50 and well below average.
HINT AT APRIL
As of now, the first week of April looks to continue the trend of below average temperatures. We’ll have to wait and see how the rest of the month looks.
SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY
An area of low pressure will move through the Ohio Valley Sunday evening before transferring its energy to a developing coast low off the Mid-Atlantic coast Monday.
This storm will likely spread an area of snow into the region late Sunday into Monday.
It is still too early to be very detailed with expected snow amounts. Right now it appears the greatest potential for accumulating snow will be over the Laurel Highlands and to the south of the turnpike across the Lower Susquehanna.
How far north the snow will extend is still very much in question as well.
Meteorologist Andrea Michaels will be in all weekend looking at the latest information and will bring you updated details on timing and amounts.
This will once again be the type of storm where some areas have the potential to see several inches of snow while others barely see any at all.
