People packed Appalachian Brewing Company in Harrisburg on Sunday to raise money for a local soldier injured while serving in Afghanistan.
The “Kegs and Legs” fundraiser was held in honor of Sergeant Robert Easley, Jr., from Cumberland County.
Sgt. Easley lost his legs and three partial fingers when an IED exploded while he was on duty in Afghanistan.
“Things are obviously different for me now, but its certainly not over. I have many, many years and I’m gonna do everything I wanna do. I’m not gonna let this stop me. There’s just too many great things and opportunities, especially now. I mean, I’ve gotten more opportunities than I probably would have before and I’m gonna take advantage of all of them,” Sgt. Easley says.
He’s being treated at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and is looking forward to finally coming home.
