Crews are trying to figure out what caused a sinkhole to open up along Washington Street in Mechanicsburg on Monday afternoon. Authorities were alerted to a sinkhole developing underneath the pavement around 4 p.m. along the 200 block of Washington Street.
Police have a portion of the road closed between West Simpson and West Keller Streets.
No timeline has been given on when the road will be reopened.
