“It’s important for people to see artifacts like this to remind them that we as a nation have done a lot around the world to secure the peace for other people and it also goes back to the veterans and that there’s actually stories and people associated with that, those struggles we’ve been a part of as a nation,” says Lt. Col. Chris Leljedal with the U.S. Army Heritage Education Center.
The individual stories will be included on signs around the tank. It’s part of a larger exhibit right off Interstate 81 at the Heritage Education Center in Carlisle. They’re open 7 days a week and it’s free.
