After their playoff campaign in 2012, the O’s are finally back in Baltimore.  They are flying high into the charm city after winning their opening series in Tampa Bay.

Chris Davis, Orioles 1st baseman

“To be back here and open our season after the way we started.  Its a blessing and we are excited to see everybody and see how crazy we get.”

Brian Matusz, Orioles Pitcher

“Its awesome.  Opening Day is like a holiday.  Its exciting to be back here in front of the fans and our focus this year is to take things a little bit further.”

After that success last year, the pressure and expectations are even heavier on the Os, but they say they are ready for it, especially on Opening Day.

Buck Showalter, Orioles Manager

“Its actually, I would say pressure, you know.  You want to do well.  Its that time of the year like spring, where everyone is thinking best case scenario.”

Ryan Flaherty, Orioles Infielder

“Its kind of like what Buck instills.  We are going to play winning baseball and we put our own expectations on ourselves, even last year when everybody said, we weren’t going to do well.”

Darren O’Day, Orioles Pitcher

“We’re on pace to win for like 110 wins so I think thats a reasonable explanation.  But we have the makings of a good ball club so we will see how it plays out.”
