17th Annual Taste of Lancaster County Set for April 14

Food Bank fundraiser to host one of the premiere events at Lancaster County Convention Center

(Harrisburg, PA) – Where can you find samples from more than 30 of the area’s finest food and beverage purveyor’s, all in one location?  The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank’s 17th annual Taste of Lancaster County, which is scheduled for Sunday, April 14 at the Lancaster County Convention Center.

Approximately 35 area restaurants, caterers and beverage purveyors including The Inn at Bully’s Restaurant & Pub, Couture Cupcakes, Lancaster Brewing Company, Annie Bailey’s Irish Pub & Restaurant, John Wright Restaurant, Waltz Vineyards Estate Winery, Shady Maple Smorgasbord,  Honey Baked Ham, Tulsi Indian Cuisine, Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant and many more will share delicious samples of specialty menu items such as:  chicken tikka masale, crab soup, Guinness chocolate bread pudding, smoked salmon with fresh fruit salsa, shepherd’s pie, chicken alfredo orecchiette and much more. (See attached list for complete list of participating vendors and menu items) This annual event is a family favorite and raises approximately $50,000 each year to help feed hungry families in central PA.

The Taste of Lancaster County will begin at 11 a.m. with a Champagne Reception, followed by a Private Taste from Noon – 1 p.m. The Main Taste Event begins at 1 p.m. and ends at 3 p.m. A deluxe ticket, which includes the Champagne Reception, Private Taste and Main Taste Event, is $60 in advance and $65 at the door. A ticket for the Private Taste that includes the Main Taste Event is $40 in advance and $45 at the door. A ticket for the Main Taste Event is $20 in advance and $25 at the door. All-day tickets for children ages 6 – 12 are available for $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Children 5 and under are free. Tickets are available online at centralpafoodbank.org or by calling the Food Bank at 717.564.1700. Main Taste Event tickets and child tickets are also available at GIANT Food Stores in Lancaster County.

Susquehanna Bank is the top level Master Chef Sponsors, PSECU is the Executive Chef Sponsor and Rodgers & Associates is the Sous Chef Sponsor for the event. Other sponsors for the Taste of Lancaster County include Cooper Booth Wholesale Company, Costco Wholesale, GIANT Food Stores, Dr. Joan M. Ruffle, Lawn Equipment Parts Company, Lift, Inc., High Company and QVC. Media sponsors are WGAL TV-8, 92.7 WRKZ Classic Rock and The Rose 101 FM. Host sponsor is the Lancaster County Convention Center.
