Man arrested for retail theft wanted by U.S. Marshal’s Office

Ephrata Police arrested 54-year old Diego Garcia, of Lancaster, on Saturday for retail theft at Wal-Mart on East Main Street. Employees noticed Garcia take 97 items off of shelves, place them into his cart and then into Wal-Mart bags before preceding to leave the store without paying.

The items, which included clothing and food items valued at $665.93. Police ran Garcia’s name through the National Crime Information Center and records revealed a warrant from the United States Marshal’s Office in New York had a warrant out for the arrest of Garcia on a violation of firearms offense.

He is currently being held in Lancaster County Prison.
