The Harrisburg Police dog who was shot in the line of duty, was honored by the Paxtonia Athletic Association on Saturday.
Zeke “threw out” the first pitch during the opening day ceremonies. His version of throwing involved running to the catcher with the baseball in his mouth.
All of the little league teams were on the field to cheer Zeke on.
Zeke was shot in the neck last month while helping Lower Paxton Township Police track down a suspect.
The baseball players were excited to see Zeke on the baseball diamond.
“It went from being a small honor to Zeke and ended up being a pretty big deal which was really neat to see. It’s just great, it puts a smile on your face, especially just looking at these kids, puts a smile on their faces. I mean, how could you not love this day,” says Anthony Mosca, with the Athletic Assoc.
Zeke is expected to make a full recovery and should be back at work very soon.
