It’s Blue White weekend in Happy Valley. The annual Spring football game kicked off at noon Saturday with extra police and security guards at Beaver Stadium.
Except for authorized personnel, no one was allowed to bring in any bags, backpacks, umbrellas, footballs, strollers, purses or diaper bags. Anyone with medical needs had to carry their medical supplies in a clear plastic bag.
Jeff Kerr, a fan from Berks County said, “I’d rather be safe than sorry, I don’t want to see another tragedy like this ever happen again, I mean things like this are inevitable, but at the same time, you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do to make sure we’re all safe, that’s the most important part.”
The same rules apply to all other venues on campus that are hosting events this
weekend, including the NCAA Men’s Gymnastics Championships taking place in Rec Hall.
