Police in Lancaster County charge a 20 year old Marietta man with multiple counts of sexual assault involving a 13 year old girl. Stephen Berkebile was discovered in his car with the juvenile in West View Park last October. Mount Joy Police say Berkebile was 19 years old at the time and was known to the victim. According to the arresting documents filed on April 17, 2013, Berkebile also photographed himself engaged in a sexual act with the minor. He later sent the photo to the girl’s Facebook.
Charges against Berkebile include, Statutory Sexual Assault, Corruption of Minors, Unlawful Contact with Minor and Indecent Assault. Berkebile was arraigned and released after posting bail. A preliminary hearing is set for the end of May.
