Police seek hit-and-run driver who injured pedestrian in Carlisle

Police are searching for the driver who hit and injured a pedestrian at the Carlisle Fairgrounds on Saturday afternoon. According to police reports, officers were sent to the fairgrounds around 4:45 p.m. for a man who was struck by a trailer being towed by a white Chevy van with Ohio plates.

When officers arrived on scene, they found  Jerry Smith, 47, of Waldorf, Maryland, suffering from injuries to his right leg. Smith was taken to Carlisle Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The van was last seen driving out of the fairgrounds.
