PennDOT reopened the ramp from westbound Route 22 to southbound Interstate 81 in the I-81 Exit 67 interchange this afternoon at 1:40 p.m. this afternoon. Westbound traffic on Route 22 approaching the I-81 Exit 67 interchange can now continue through the interchange to go west toward Dauphin and State College, north onto northbound I-81, and south onto southbound I-81.

Eastbound Route 22/322 approaching the interchange can continue south on southbound I81 or through the interchange to northbound I-81.

Interstate 81 still remains closed in both directions in the vicinity of the interchange. The ramp from northbound I-81 to westbound Route 22/322 remains closed. Eastbound Route 22 through the interchange toward the City of Harrisburg remains closed. These road closures will remain in effect until further notice while the structural integrity of the bridges is evaluated and the safety of motorists can be assured.

PennDOT will continue to issue updates as the day progresses about the reopening of roads and the condition the bridges in the I-81 Exit 67 interchange.

A fiery tanker crash shortly after 6 a.m. today on the ramp from northbound Interstate 81 to westbound Route 22/322 has closed the bridges that carry Route 22/322 over I-81 and also both directions of I-81 that pass underneath those bridges.
