Commuters in Dauphin County will see traffic delays as Interstate 81 remains closed outside of Harrisburg.
Repairs are still being made after the tanker fire on Thursday.
“This has obviously been a hardship for those that needed to travel to work on Thursday and Friday, and it’ll continue to be a hardship here on Monday until things slowly improve,” says Mike Keiser, PENNDOT District 8 executive. “So again, I ask for your patience and understanding.”
Route 22 inbound into Harrisburg was reopened Sunday afternoon, and will now have one lane open in each direction. Crews built crossovers to accomodate both lanes on the westbound ramp.
PENNDOT says Interstate 81 is on track to reopen by Tuesday morning.
