Two retail thieves were arrested this afternoon around 2:20 p.m. by New Holland Police for attempting to steal items from Yoder’s Country Market. Employees reported that two suspects took items from the store without paying and put them into their car.

Officers were able to take 18-year old Tyler Fountain, of Honey Brook, and 35-year old Jill Merlino, of West Chester, into custody. The two were found standing by their get-away car when police arrived because their car would not start.

Fountain was issued a citation for the theft and released because it was his first offense. Merlino has been charged with Felony Retail Theft and Felony Criminal Conspiracy because this is her fifth time being arrested for retail theft. She is currently in Lancaster County Prison on $50,000 bail.
