Heeding God’s Call, a group looking to stop gun violence, held a prayer vigil for 25-year-old Robert Diggs.

Last week, police found Diggs dead in his apartment with a gun shot to the head.

Diggs is the eighth homicide victim this year. Vladimir Beaufils knew Diggs very well, he says the community is still in shock over Diggs’ death.

“It’s so hard because Robert was one of the good guys,”says friend Vladimir Beaufils. “Robert was one of the good ones. You hate to see any kid’s life get lost even those that have gone astray. Robert was working, keeping a job, taking care of his three kids, trying to do what he had to do to make it…make a life for himself.”

The vigil was open for the public to attend.
