United State Marshals capture a York City murder suspect in Memphis, Tennessee. Members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested 23 year old Derrick Eugene Johnson last night. He was taken into custody without incident. York City Police had requested the U.S. Marshals Service to assist in locating Johnson after information developed that he had fled the state.
Johnson was wanted on a homicide charge in the February 17, 2013 shooting of 21 year old Trevahn Kent. Kent was shot outside Temptations, a strip club in the 600 block of East Market street. Kent collapsed and died in the area of East Market and North State streets. He left behind a young son.
Johnson is being held in Tennessee, pending an extradition hearing for his return to York.
