Drier and warmer afternoon

This graphic shows one computer model’s projected high temperatures Thursday afternoon.

Light showers continue to weaken and push south of the border, courtesy of a front moving out of the Lower Susquehanna River Valley.  Clouds still hang close to the border during the afternoon, but as the front continues to push farther south, they clear out by the evening.  The farther north from the border you live, the more sunshine you can expect this afternoon.  Westerly winds help to warm temperatures to 80 degrees, with many locations reaching the lower 80s.  The afternoon will feel a bit less humid than the morning hours.
