Hundreds pay final respects to former PA Governor George Leader

Hundreds paid their final respects today to former Pennsylvania Governor George Leader.  Among the uplifting crowd, Governor Tom Corbett and former Governors Ed Rendell, Tom Ridge and Mark Schweiker.

Siblings George, David and Jane spoke about their father who they saw was a caring and compassionate leader and family man.  The York County native served as Pennsylvania Governor from 1955 to 1959.

Leader was 95 when he passed away on May 9th at Country Meadows, in Hershey.  It’s the retirement home he and his wife, Mary Jane, started.  He remains the State’s second youngest Governor, taking office at 37 years old.
