Defense Department Furloughs

Secretary of Defense, Chuck Hagel, announcing nationwide cuts to the Defense Department in Virginia.  Locally, the Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg will feel the pinch as hundreds of employees will begin the furlough process July 8th.  The Letterkenny Army Depot says they will continue to provide support to the Army as best possible with the resources given.  Hagel says instead of the 14 furloughed days that the Pentagon originally predicted, it’s down to eleven.
