A former police officer who allegedly shot a man in the foot during an argument with an ex-girlfriend in her Mount Carmel home was shot and killed by police at a suburban Philadelphia hotel.
31 year old Anthony Galla, of Cleona, Lebanon County, was killed in a shootout at a hotel in Upper Darby
Members of the U. S. Marshal Fugitive Task Force, along with state police and Upper Darby Police surrounded the hotel. Gunfire broke out and Galla was shot multiple times. No one else was injured in the incident, but an unidentified male and a female were taken into custody in relation to the incident.
Galla was wanted on a charge of attempted homicide, aggravated assault by Mount Carmel Borough Police.
The victim, Daniel McNally, 48, of Hegins, is in serious condition at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, after undergoing emergency surgery on his foot.
