School van collides with SUV in Ephrata Township

Six Ephrata Area School District students escape injury when their student transport van collides with an SUV in Ephrata Township, Lancaster County.  It happened just before 4 o’clock Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Parkview Heights Road and Akron Road.  Ephrata Police say the van driven by 44 year old Paula Shiffler, of Ephrata, pulled out from Akron Road onto Parkview Heights Road into the path of  the oncoming SUV driven by 60 year old Dennis Balmer of Lititz.

One adult passenger in the van was taken to a local hospital with a minor injury.  Balmer was not injured.  The investigation into the mishap continues.
