We had a stray thunderstorm develop in Franklin County this afternoon. It was moving east slowly and is now in York but showing some signs of weakening. It had a history of producing some gusty winds and small hail. Only an isolated threat remains for the rest of the afternoon. Otherwise, it will be a warm and sticky evening with temps falling the upper 70s and low 80s.
MUGGY NIGHT
Expect clear skies overnight with very warm lows in the mid and upper 60s. Winds will be light to calm.
CAN WE GET ANOTHER?
We officially hit 90 today and it looks like we’ll do it again tomorrow. Very strong ridge of high pressure in the upper levels will keep the heat around. Highs will soar to the lower 90s by afternoon under hazy skies. Storm chances are very minimal. Dew points are well into the 60s making it feel pretty humid as well. We could do it again on Saturday with highs climbing to 90 but we will see more clouds in the area and there is an isolated chance for a pop up shower or thunderstorm.
A reminder there is a “CODE ORANGE” Air Quality Alert for tomorrow. Folks with asthma or respiratory problems need to take it easy while outdoors. Limit exercise or exertion while outdoors.
STORMY SUNDAY
A cold front in the mid section of the country right now is producing all kinds of severe weather. It arrives here on Sunday bringing a good chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms may be strong to severe and we’ll be sure to keep an eye on things and bring you the latest. Highs will not be as hot but still quite warm in the mid 80s.
Showers and storms are still possible on Monday but temperatures will drop back to the mid 70s.
STRETCH OF 70s
Mid week through the end of the week, high pressure builds in bringing back drier air. Temperatures will be seasonal in the upper 70s under sunny skies.
