Witnesses chase down robbery suspect in Carlisle

A convenience store robbery suspect is in custody after he was chased down and subdued by a group of witnesses in Carlisle on Thursday afternoon.

Nicholas J. Sgrignoli, 23, is accused of robbing the Minute Stop along the first block of West Louther Street.

Responding officers were pointed towards North Hanover and Louther Streets where Sgrignoli was being held on the ground by a couple of bystanders. He was taken into custody without incident.

Officers found stolen cash from the robbery in Sgrignoli’s pocket.

A preliminary hearing is set for June 5.
