RAIN TOTALS SO FAR
Here is a look at where most of the rain has fallen in the past 24 hours.
SLOWLY IMPROVING
Tropical Storm Andrea is now post-tropical meaning it is losing its tropical characteristics. It has sped up now moving to the northeast at 35 mph. Steady rain has moved to the north and we are left with spotty showers at this hour. There are more rain showers moving up from Virginia and may clip some of our eastern areas tonight.
WEEKEND OUTLOOK
With Andrea just a memory we start to dry out early. Clouds will slowly thin out by the afternoon allowing for some sunshine. Most of the area looks to enjoy a rain free afternoon but there could be some isolated spots that see a pop up shower or thunderstorm. Highs will be warmer in the upper 70s. Clouds clear out overnight briefly before they build back in by the late afternoon Sunday. It will be a toasty end to the weekend with highs in the low to mid 80s. There will be warm front approaching which may trigger an isolated shower or thunderstorm late in the day towards evening Sunday.
A LOOK AHEAD
Unsettled pattern continues into the work week as an upper level trough sets up overhead. Clouds and a return of scattered showers and possibly thunderstorms are expected for late Monday. Highs should warm into the low 80s. The front crosses the area Tuesday so the threat for rain continues. Highs Tuesday will be held in the upper 70s. Wednesday we get a break from any threat for wet weather under mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 70s. But an upper level disturbance sliding just to our south may produce a few showers for Thursday before dry, sunny weather returns on Friday. Highs will be warmer in the lower 80s.
