Swatara Township police investigate rash of vehicle break-ins

Police are investigating a rash of vehicle break-ins that occurred over the weekend in Dauphin County.  Officers were dispatched to the 700 bock of Garden Drive in the Chambers Hill area of Swatara Township for a report of a suspicious male trying to break into a vehicle around 2 a.m. on Saturday.

Police arrived at the scene and spotted three males who fled into a nearby wooded area.  During the foot chase one of the suspects tossed a bag into the woods containing a stolen GPS unit.

Later that morning, another township resident called police to report their vehicle had been broken into overnight.

Investigators are still looking the thieves.
