A federal jury in Harrisburg took just 30 minutes Wednesday to convict 43 year old Eric Chambers of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.  Chambers was arrested in January 2012 on an attempted murder warrant issued in 2011 in Dauphin County. The warrant stemmed from a shooting outside of the Jazzland bar in Harrisburg nearly two years ago.

Police had received a tip that Chambers was staying at the Red Roof Inn, on Eisenhower Blvd. in Swatara Township.   Federal, state and local police converged on the hotel and arrested Chambers without incident.  In his hotel room, police found a .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun and magazine hidden in a trash can. He indicted by a federal grand jury in April 2012 for illegal possession of a firearm.

In addition to his federal conviction, Chambers was convicted last month of attempted murder and other charges in Dauphin County court.
