Lancaster –

Lancaster Police are searching for the suspect involved in a shooting that has left one man dead.  The shooting happened around 10:20 p.m. in the 100 block of Nevin Street, near Franklin and Marshall College.

NevinStshootingPolice got the call for the sound of gunshots.  When they arrived on scene, they found a car had crashed into another parked car.  Inside the car, a victim had been shot.  That victim was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

At this point, police are not releasing the victims name, however they do say they are actively searching for a suspect.  Both police and neighbors agree, this is an area that is not used to this type of violent crime.

“We have a patrol zone here, but again, it’s usually just for loud parties and things regarding the university, right now, it’s pretty quiet in this area normally,” said Sgt. Gary McCrady of the Lancaster Police Department.

“I just bought a house here and it seems pretty safe and I’ve lived in the neighborhood for a couple of years, so it was pretty scary,” said Lindsey Tellez.
