jasonWhen drivers get behind the wheel at any track there are always risks. For example, in July 2011 NASCAR driver Kasey Kahne rolled his sprint car and flew over the wall at Williams Grove.

“Being in this sport for over 25 years,” says Susquehanna Speedway Park Todd Fisher, “I have seen a lot of it, a lot more than I went to see. ”

Too many risks for Fisher to say what caused the crash that killed Jason Leffler. He did have ties to Central Pennsylvania, he raced on the Susquehanna Speedway Park back in May where he took fifth place.

” He picked up on it really well,” Fisher recalls, ” we were hoping for him to come back again this year.

Fisher says speedways across the country continue to innovate ways to make tracks and equipment safer and cut down on the risks facing drivers.
