The coolest small town in America, Lititz Pennsylvania celebrated its new title by attempting to break the world record for the “most sunglasses worn at night”.
More than 2,000 people packed Main Street.
Lititz has already been named the coolest small town in America, but people here tonight are ready to show the world why it deserves that title.
“3, 2, 1….everybody pump your hands!”
It’s something people in this town have dreamed of…
“You look beautiful, YEAH!” says an event coordinator.
To be recognized by the world.
“This is Lititz, we show up,” says Betsy Barkley.
Months of preparation all leads up to this moment.

“You don’t see that very often that’s why we’re cool,” says Bob Dimperio.
From young to those young at heart, the 100 year old town only gets better with age.
“WE LOVE LITITZ!!” shouts a group of people.
And tonight’s world record attempt proves that.
Event organizers say without the people who make up this small town, it wouldn’t be getting so much attention.
“It has been so community building and that is the one reason that makes us so cool is our community,” says Executive Director of Adventure Lititz, Kelly Withum.
And those participating say this is what a small town is all about.
“This is the greatest town in the country as far as I’m concerned,” says Mike Halderman.
This attempt won’t be confirmed until paper work is handed in and Guiness gives Lititz the “OK”
But from what you can see, they’re number 1 in their books.
